Hecate is a goddess in ancient Greek Religion and mythology, most often shown holding a pair of torches, a key, or snakes, or accompanied by dogs, and in later periods depicted as three-formed or triple-bodied. She is variously associated with crossroads, night, light, magic, Witchcraft, drugs, the moon, graves, and ghosts.
A goddess of great honour with domains in sky, earth, and sea. She had popular followings amongst the witches of Thessaly, and an important sanctuary among the Carians in Lagina .
Hecate was generally represented as three-formed or triple-bodied, though the earliest known images of the goddess are singular.
My interpretation of her is of a singular figure, wearing her iconic crown with a snake wrapped around her neck.
This is one of the first prints of her and the edges have not taken as well but she will look fine once framed.
